Exporting your inventory report from ImproMed

ImproMed carries a large built-in report library, which is helpful once you know which two reports matter and distracting before then. Ignore everything except a current inventory valuation and a twelve month item sales report.

What you actually need

Four columns. Everything else in the report is optional, so do not spend time tidying the rest.

Item name
exactly as your system writes it
Quantity on hand
current units in stock
Unit cost
what you pay your distributor, not the client price
Units sold, one file per month
twelve separate monthly reports, not one twelve-month total

Two optional columns worth grabbing

If ImproMed offers these, leave them in. They cost nothing at export time and they let StockSolve compare what an item should have earned against what it actually booked, which is what separates a vaccine bundled into a wellness plan from a charge that was simply missed. Nothing to map: if the columns are in the file, the engine finds them.

Unit price
the client-facing sell price. Often called Price, Retail, Sell or Charge
Sales revenue
what the item actually booked. Often called Revenue, Extended, Sales or Amount

Which reports to look for in ImproMed

Report names shift between versions, so go by what the report contains rather than by an exact menu label. You are looking for two things:

  1. 1An inventory valuation or stock status report with quantity and cost per item.
  2. 2An item sales, product movement, or revenue by item report across a year.

Things that trip people up on ImproMed

The report library is deep. Search it by the word inventory rather than browsing category by category.
Some reports are built for printing rather than analysis. If the export arrives with page headers repeated through the file, look for a different version of the same report or an export-to-spreadsheet option.
