Exporting your inventory report from Hippo Manager

Hippo Manager keeps its feature set deliberately lean, which cuts both ways here. There are fewer places to hunt for the report you want, and fewer options once you find it. You still need the same two things: current stock, and a year of units sold.

What you actually need

Four columns. Everything else in the report is optional, so do not spend time tidying the rest.

Item name
exactly as your system writes it
Quantity on hand
current units in stock
Unit cost
what you pay your distributor, not the client price
Units sold, one file per month
twelve separate monthly reports, not one twelve-month total

Two optional columns worth grabbing

If Hippo Manager offers these, leave them in. They cost nothing at export time and they let StockSolve compare what an item should have earned against what it actually booked, which is what separates a vaccine bundled into a wellness plan from a charge that was simply missed. Nothing to map: if the columns are in the file, the engine finds them.

Unit price
the client-facing sell price. Often called Price, Retail, Sell or Charge
Sales revenue
what the item actually booked. Often called Revenue, Extended, Sales or Amount

Which reports to look for in Hippo Manager

Report names shift between versions, so go by what the report contains rather than by an exact menu label. You are looking for two things:

  1. 1An inventory or product report listing quantity on hand and cost.
  2. 2A sales or invoiced items report broken out by product over a date range.

Things that trip people up on Hippo Manager

If the reporting section will not give you a full twelve-month range in one pass, export month by month. StockSolve accepts up to twelve separate monthly sales files and reads seasonality from them.
Check whether the quantity column is units or dollars. A lean report set sometimes labels revenue simply as "sales".
Confirm the cost figure is what you pay your distributor, not the price charged to the client.
